Following the refresh of our Human Rights Strategy in 2024, we developed an online human rights module to support team members to understand the key principles of the Strategy and how their roles contribute to delivering its objectives. The module has been incorporated into Coles’ mandatory learning requirements for relevant team members as part of a progressive rollout to build human rights awareness and capability across the business. The Coles Group Board and Executive Leadership Team have completed the module, supporting oversight and leadership of our Human Rights Strategy and Ethical Sourcing Program.
Relevant functional team members, including procurement teams, product technologists, category managers, contract owners and contract managers, also receive training and guidance on the Ethical Sourcing Program. This supports them to understand how the Program applies to their role and to confidently discuss Coles’ ethical sourcing expectations with suppliers.
Coles also provides targeted training to team members in key roles including disability confidence, workplace behaviour (including intimidation, discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and victimisation), mental health and wellbeing, and anti-bribery and corruption.
