Grievance mechanisms

Our approach

As part of our broader human rights strategy, in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles (UNGP), we are committed to providing an effective and accessible grievance mechanism for people to raise concerns that may impact individuals in our own operations, supply chain and communities.

Access to trusted grievance channels is fundamental to respecting human rights. It helps people raise concerns safely, supports early identification of potential issues, and enables Coles to respond, investigate and provide or support remediation where appropriate. Coles respects the rights of individuals and human rights defenders to confidentially and/or anonymously raise concerns without fear of retaliation. Coles will not tolerate retaliation, intimidation, harassment, discrimination, or victimisation against any individuals, organisations or their representatives who raise concerns, and will act against any parties who engage in any manner of retaliation.
