On behalf of the Coles Group Board, we are delighted to welcome you to the new era for Coles, a leading Australian retailer with a proud history of serving Australia and now listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
The original Coles store was opened by G.J. Coles in Collingwood, Victoria, in 1914. G.J. Coles wanted to create a store that sold quality goods, provided great customer service and helped lower the cost of living for local families. Since then, Coles has served generations of Australians with high levels of quality, service and value for over 100 years - and this mission continues to inspire us today.
Each week, our businesses serve an average of 21 million customers who trust Coles to provide them with everyday products and services at competitive prices. This includes fresh food, groceries, household goods, liquor, fuel and financial services, through our national store network of over 2,500 retail outlets and our online platforms.
Our retail presence includes Coles Supermarkets, Coles Express, Coles Online, Liquorland, Vintage Cellars, First Choice Liquor and First Choice Liquor Market, Spirit Hotels and Coles Financial Services. We also own a 50 per cent stake in flybuys, Australia’s most popular loyalty program.
Coles Group employs more than 115,000 team members across Australia, including more than 4,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team members. We are also proud to work in partnership with over 7,000 suppliers, including thousands of Australian farmers.
