An additional 48 team members will transfer from nearby Coles supermarkets, bringing the total number of team members to 120.

The new Coolalinga supermarket will feature a large carpark with trailer parking, an in-store bakery offering freshly baked bread, a gourmet delicatessen with an olive bar, open-style butchery, and a scoop-and-weigh station with a wide range of seeds, nuts, grains and dried fruits.

Coles State General Manager Dave Pieters said Coolalinga Central will offer great product choice and value, making grocery shopping more enjoyable and convenient for customers.

“A new supermarket also means new job opportunities for the local community, and we’re pleased to welcome 72 new team members to the Coolalinga Central supermarket,” he said.

Store Manager Dominic De Virgilio said the team is excited to open the doors and to be part of the community.

“We have a team that has decades of experience at Coles. We even have eight team members who each have over 10 years of service with the supermarket,” he said.

“This opens up opportunities for our 72 new team members to learn from those who know the business and the local community very well.”

Of the 75 new recruits joining the store, 11 will be Indigenous team members. Across Australia Coles employs more than 2,900 Indigenous team members.

Coles at Coolalinga will officially open to shoppers at 8am this Saturday. To celebrate, the team will host a free Family Fun Day from 10am to 4pm, 13 May which will feature face painting, balloon modellers, Coles gift card giveaways and a kids superhero costume parade.
