Coles creates more than 35 local jobs at new-look Port Melbourne store

Coles will create more than 35 new jobs and an enhanced shopping experience when it unveils its refurbished Port Melbourne store this week.

03 April 2017

New team members joining Coles at Port Melbourne will work across all areas of the store, bringing the total number of team members to more than 175.

As part of the refurbishment, the store will feature a continental delicatessen with an extended seafood selection, self-service olive bar, large selection of cheese, a meat counter with a slice on request service, ‘scoop and weigh’ station, and an extensive fresh produce area with fruit and vegetables displayed on ice.

Customers will also be able to enjoy a brand new in-store bakery with freshly-baked bread, including flatbread made daily and the popular ‘naked bread’ option.

The supermarket will boast a quick and easy shopping experience with the addition of a brand new customer service desk and three new manned express checkouts to complement Coles’ exceptional in-store customer service.

To meet the needs of the busy store, the newly transformed Port Melbourne store will also feature a grab and go section for lunches and meals.

Store Manager Toni Maltez has worked at Coles for more than 12 years across stores in Melbourne and is excited that the changes to the store reflect the needs of the growing community.
“We know that that residents in this area enjoy living a healthy and active lifestyle, especially as we are located so close to the beach. To continue supporting this, the new store will now feature a ‘healthy living aisle’ within the supermarket, which we are sure locals will come to love. We’re thrilled to be able to offer these products to meet local needs,” he said.

Coles at Port Melbourne is open from 6am - 12am everyday.
