Harris Technology MD
E.colesmyer’s Managing
Director, Jon Wood, today announced the appointment of David Foster as Managing
Director of Harris Technology, following the retirement of Ron Harris on July
26.
Mr Foster will be responsible
for the ongoing development and direction of the corporate business and new
e-commerce initiatives for Harris Technology.
His previous appointment was
General Manager Sales and Strategic Planning for Harris Technology with
responsibility for the development of sales within Harris Technology and the
implementation of new strategic initiatives including outsourced distribution
and category management.
Mr Wood said Harris Technology
is one of the fastest growing computer resellers in Australia due to its
'multi-channel' access for customers via retail stores and online web, phone,
catalogue, email and fax orders.
“In 1986 Ron Harris established
Harris Technology to sell PCs to the small to medium sized business market. The
business grew steadily and in April 1999 was acquired by Coles Myer,” Mr Wood
said.
“Ron has been a visionary and
leader in the development of online commerce in Australia and we wish him well
in his retirement.”
